Department Profile

Responding to the popular demand for commerce education in the college has started the B.Com program in the academic year 1993 – 1994. Over the years, the department of commerce has grown as one of the largest departments in the college with 11 faculty members and over 300 students. The department of commerce is known for providing higher education in commerce with quantitative treatment.
The department grew into a post graduate departments in 2005 by which its contribution to application oriented higher education in commerce has been recognized and B.Com with E.Commerce was introduced in the year 2012.
The UG Department of Commerce and E.Commerce is located in the Ground Floor and First Floor of the SVN Building with Spacious Class Rooms, adequate Furniture for the Students.
The Department has a Computer Lab with recent social science statistical packages in addition to the fully equipped Computer Lab/ Media Lab.
Department Library is a repository of select rare relevant books in commerce theory , policy and Quantitative Techniques.
The Department Commerce organizes workshops for the teachers in which the experts are invited by the various colleges to provide the effective methodologies and teaching style adopted with regard to implementation of the curriculum. The Curriculum is also updated by the University. Our commerce department provides additional skill enhancement programs to the students like language and enhancement program, Personality Development Program.
